Meet Michelle
Michelle is the founder of Next Chapter Nomads and someone who understands deeply what it means to leave the U.S. and begin again somewhere else.
Over the course of her adult life, Michelle has moved more than 30 times, living internationally in Japan, Italy, Albania, Poland, Germany, Thailand, and beyond.
She has done it every way imaginable: with small children and teenagers, with pets, completely alone, with military logistical support and, for the past 5 years, entirely on her own without a safety net.
She knows what it feels like to pack up a life, step into the unknown, and rebuild routine, community, and identity in a new country. She also knows that relocation is never just about the move itself, it’s about who you become once you arrive.

In addition to her lived experience, Michelle brings over 20 years of professional work with the military community, supporting service members, veterans, and families through transitions that require both resilience and reinvention. She holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) with a specialization in Military Community Members, is an ACC International Life Coach, and is trained as a Global Mobility Specialist.
Michelle doesn’t offer hype or shortcuts. She offers perspective, steadiness, and a process built from real experience—helping people leave the U.S. thoughtfully, prepare for international life with clarity, and step into their next chapter grounded rather than rushed.
She doesn’t tell you where to go.
